READY TO START THIS COSMIC JOURNEY TOGETHER?
This year's convention features regions meticulously crafted by our talented builders, encompassing every detail, from intricate map layouts to the winding roads connecting them.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to these amazing individuals for their hard work and creativity.
Several builders have generously shared their innovative concepts and intriguing secrets with us!
Are you eager to discover more? Keep reading!
Builders: Pixi (Destimona) and Kes Winchester
Era: 20s-30s
Step into a bygone era of industrial grandeur and visionary imagination, where the builder of the Sim Pixi transports you to the dawn of the golden age of science fiction. Inspired by the striking Art Deco aesthetics and the early stirrings of humanity’s fascination with space and synthetic life, this environment serves as a living museum to the 1920s and 1930s.
Every structure and horizon is crafted to reflect the bold, monochromatic dreams of the past, capturing the transition from the steam-powered realities of the Industrial Revolution into the sleek, high-concept futures envisioned by the pioneers of speculative thought.
As you wander through our meticulously detailed cityscapes, you will find yourself immersed in the artistic legacy of the most iconic works from these formative decades.
Paying homage to the monumental silent-film masterpiece Metropolis (1927), the pioneering space exploration of Woman in the Moon (1929), and the chilling scientific hubris of Frankenstein (1931).
Experience the adventurous spirit found in the pulp serials of Flash Gordon (1936) while reflecting on the societal warnings within Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World (1932) and H.G. Wells’ The Shape of Things to Come (1933).
The world also draws inspiration from the mysterious atmosphere of The Invisible Man (1933), the prehistoric wonder of King Kong (1933), and the stark dystopian vision of Yevgeny Zamyatin’s We (1924). Come witness the foundational architecture of the future as it was first conceived during the dawn of the genre.
INTERVIEW WITH BUILDER
Tara: What is your inspiration for creating your region? What is the story behind your building?
Pixi: The 1920s and 1930s saw some of the world's most advanced scientific discoveries and creations; this includes the first time humans dreamed of something outside of our own planet. The first space suit, the first sci-fi monster film (Frankenstein), and penicillin were discovered by Alexander Fleming in 1928. It was an amazing two decades to cover. This was my inspiration. It also saw the first Marvel superhero, and DC was also born. Sci- fi (hero) was also used as war propaganda in the Second World War, which started in 1939. All of these events were my inspiration. When it came to shops, I instantly thought of the old radio sitting in my parents' house; it was from the 1930s. And thus Radio Light was born.
Tara: Are there any secrets, interesting places, or inner events at your sim that visitors must see/find/explore/try/take part in? Is there a storyline to follow?
Pixi: Always remember to look up!
Tara: Do you have your own brand/shop? Can you say a few words about it? What do you create, and what style do you like more?
Pixi: Honestly, I do; I'm just starting to learn how to really mesh (without AI). However, I started with an AI mesh shop, although I know that topic is controversial to me; it is a tool, just like spell check. I will never say I made something because in AI, you didn't. You DID, however, create it, thought of a concept, and had assistance executing it. DO I consider myself a builder? I didn't for this reason; I do not build. I think. I stand in my shop, 'That Thing Over There,' and I think. It's full of oddities and trinkets, and soon? My own Blender mesh creations.

Step into a world where the future is exactly as the mid-century imagination envisioned it. Our Second Life sim invites you to explore a landscape defined by chrome-plated rockets, looming tripod invaders, and the thrilling aesthetic of 1940s pulp science fiction. The Sim meticulously recreated the golden age of speculative wonder, where high-stakes adventure meets the distinct art deco charm of the era.
Whether you are a defender of humanity ready to take up arms against cosmic threats or a curious traveler navigating the neon-tinged shadows of a retro-futuristic metropolis, there is a place for you here. The atmosphere captures the heart of the genre, from the silent grace of flying saucers hovering above to the relentless march of classic robots. Join us to relive an era where the stars were just within reach, and every horizon promised an extraterrestrial encounter.
To truly appreciate the foundation of this era, our sim pays tribute to the seminal stories and films that captivated the imaginations of the 1940s. Immerse yourself in the intellectual depths of Isaac Asimov's I, Robot (1950/collected stories from the 1940s) and the classic pulp adventures found in A.E. van Vogt’s Slan (1940).
The atmosphere also draws from cinematic and literary marvels such as the radio play turned cultural phenomenon of The War of the Worlds (1938/ongoing 1940s impact), Clifford Simak’s City (serialized starting in 1944), George R. Stewart’s Earth Abides (1949), Robert A. Heinlein’s Sixth Column (1941), and the visionary technological wonder of The World of Null-A (1945). Come journey through these foundational tales where the seeds of all modern science fiction were first planted.

As you wander through our ethereal sky-metropolis, you will find yourself walking through scenes inspired by the most iconic cinematic visions of that decade. Experience the awe of contact seen in The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951), explore the mysteries of deep space reminiscent of Forbidden Planet (1956), and feel the tension of humanity’s survival as depicted in The War of the Worlds (1953) and The Thing from Another World (1951). Whether you are here for the retro-tech or the timeless storytelling, this is your invitation to step into the heart of 1950s sci-fi cinema.
INTERVIEW WITH BUILDER
Tara: What is your inspiration for creating your region? What is the story behind your building?
Rhavyn: Sometime in the future, humanity has taken to the stars and discovered new worlds. Yet the pull of Earth has never truly left us. As we journey farther and farther from our mother world, we begin to long for the comfort and nostalgia of our past.
When this city was built, its creators drew inspiration from what many viewed as a “golden era” of peace, prosperity, and optimism, when humanity was only beginning to dream about the stars. It was a time of sock hops and drive-in movies, when motorcycles and convertibles parked side by side at the local burger stand and waitresses served food on roller skates.
The city reflects a future civilization trying to preserve the warmth and innocence of a world left behind.
Tara: Are there any secrets or interesting places or inner events at your sim that visitors must see/find/explore/try/take a part in? Is there a storyline to follow?
Rhavyn: There are a few hidden easter eggs throughout the sim for visitors to discover, including a Con Magazine featuring the admins and builders behind the various sims, along with photos of each region, as well as a collectible T-shirt featuring the Con logo.
Visitors can also enjoy the roller rink, where friends can skate together beneath glowing neon lights, a drive-in theater showing movies nightly, and a retro bowling alley filled with neon lanes alongside the exhibitor booths.
The region is designed to encourage exploration and reward visitors who take the time to look around and immerse themselves in the atmosphere.
Tara: Do you have your own brand/shop? Can you say a few words about it? What do you create, and what style do you like more?
Rhavyn: I own Designs by Rhavyn, where I create an eclectic mix of items. My primary focus is custom tattoos, custom music boxes, and original art, though I also create many of the things I cannot easily find on the Marketplace, such as ritual candles, magical staffs, and other specialty décor pieces.
Most of my work spreads through word of mouth, which has allowed me to focus on creating highly personalized and unique designs.

Your concept in a few words (what do you build, what do you present):
I get a theme. This year, I got the 1970s decade, so I wanted to make you feel like you were walking through movie sets. My family has worked with Hollywood.
Welcome to a world where the celluloid dreams of a legendary Hollywood lineage come to life in the vibrant, gritty, and visionary aesthetic of the 1970s. Inspired by the film industry, it serves as an interactive soundstage, meticulously designed to make every visitor feel as if they are stepping directly onto the set of a high-concept sci-fi masterpiece. From the stark, clinical corridors of a deep-space freighter to the sun-scorched remnants of a post-apocalyptic wasteland, we have captured the raw atmosphere and revolutionary production design that defined a decade of groundbreaking speculative cinema.
Explore an immersive landscape that pays homage to the most iconic futuristic visions of the era, drawing inspiration from the haunting isolation of Alien (1979) and the sprawling space opera spectacle of Star Wars (1977). Wander through sectors that channel the techno-dystopian paranoia of THX 1138 (1971), the high-tech amusement gone wrong of Westworld (1973), and the stark, survivalist tension found in The Omega Man (1971). Whether you are uncovering the unsettling secrets of a dome-covered city like in Logan’s Run (1976), contemplating the environmental warnings of Silent Running (1972), witnessing the unsettling discovery of a new reality in Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), navigating the chilling conspiracy of Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), or pondering the grim truth behind Soylent Green (1973), the sim brings these cinematic icons to life in breathtaking detail
INTERVIEW WITH BUILDER
Tara: What is your inspiration for creating your region? What is the story behind your building?
Mysticq: At the water, I wanted to take you to Jaws, who just turned 50 years old. Across the street is the Daily Comet for the Superman movie. Part of my beach and the whole side of the region is a tribute to the three Planet of the Apes movies that came out in the 70s. Then walking into a city in space, thinking of some of the planets we visited with the strange flora in the theaters of the 1970s. Walking up to my tribute to Tatooine in Star Wars. I was living in Los Angeles after I graduated High School so 1976 to 1979. I went to all these movies in the big theaters they had at the time in the Hollywood area.
Tara: Is there any secrets, interesting places, or inner events at your sim that visitors must see/find/explore/try/take part in? Is there a storyline to follow?
Mysticq: I believe the shops in this region have created interesting things to find and to do in this region and the path takes you from one region to another. So its intent was to be a journey through the 70s.
The Jaws exhibit is the explore as the Planet of the Apes. I plan to hide some things to find in these places.
Tara: Do you have your own brand/shop? Can you say a few words about it? What do you create, and what style do you like more?
Mysticq: I have Q Designs that are in the Whispering events. I make mostly thrones with different fantasy themes in both adult and PG.
I created the story and have built Noxia since 2019; it was a lycan roleplay region in 2017. I also built regions for Progeny Vampire and administered that system as part of the development team. I am a founding member of Dream Stars.
Examples of what I do.

Region name: Neon Dystopia
Builders: Kiptin | region sponsored by KiCKFLiP
A nostalgic retro-futuristic cyberpunk city inspired by 1980s science fiction films, arcade culture, neon nightlife, and immersive exploration.
Welcome to a sprawling metropolis of eternal twilight, where the streets hum with the electric pulse of 1980s retro-futurism. This immersive sim by Kiptin invites you to lose yourself in a landscape of rain-slicked pavement, towering neon advertisements, and analog-tech aesthetics that feel ripped from the golden age of cyberpunk and high-concept sci-fi cinema.
As you navigate the labyrinthine alleyways and crowded arcades, you’ll find the atmosphere heavily inspired by the grit of Blade Runner, the high-stakes digital obsession of Tron, and the dystopian tension found in RoboCop and The Terminator. It is a place where the line between reality and simulation blurs, paying homage to the visionary world-building of Escape from New York and the dark, synthesized heartbeat of an era obsessed with the fusion of man and machine.
Beyond the neon-drenched architecture, our sim serves as a playground for those who grew up dreaming of distant galaxies and technological revolutions. Whether you are hacking terminals, engaging in high-speed hovercar pursuits reminiscent of the chase sequences in Akira and Aliens, or simply soaking in the ambient synth-wave soundtrack, every experience is crafted to evoke the wonder of Back to the Future and the cosmic mystery of The Thing. We have meticulously curated an environment that captures the chaotic, analog-tech charm of 1980s pop culture, allowing you to live out your own cinematic adventure in a city that never sleeps and always evolves.
INTERVIEW WITH BUILDER
Tara: What is your inspiration to create your region? What is the story behind your building?
Kiptin: Neon Dystopia was inspired by the feeling of stepping into the future as people imagined it back in the 1980s. A lot of modern sci-fi feels very clean and polished, but older science fiction had this gritty, dreamlike atmosphere that felt more human to me. Films like Blade Runner, Escape from New York, The Running Man, and many others helped shape the visual direction and emotional tone of the region.
I wanted the region to feel like an active retro-futuristic city where visitors could wander through glowing alleyways, rainy streets, rooftops, arcades, underground clubs, and hidden corners while slowly uncovering little pieces of the world around them.
The emotional message behind Neon Dystopia is really about nostalgia and imagination. I wanted people to feel a sense of wonder and maybe even feel a little lost inside this giant neon cityscape, almost like they stepped into an old VHS-era vision of the future. Beneath the dystopian atmosphere, there is still music, creativity, community, nightlife, games, and human connection trying to survive inside the noise and corporate glow of the city.
I also wanted it to feel immersive and cinematic rather than simply being a collection of shops. My hope is that people slow down, explore, take photos, discover hidden details, and create their own little stories while visiting.
Tara: Is there any secrets, interesting places, or inner events at your sim that visitors must see/find/explore/try/take part in?
Kiptin: Absolutely. Neon Dystopia was designed to reward exploration.
Throughout the region, there are lore terminals, Animesh characters that answer questions with their own personalities and back-stories, hidden pathways, portals, rooftop hangouts, arcade-inspired games, alleyways, and little environmental clues that help tell the story of the city. Some areas are intentionally tucked away so visitors can stumble across them naturally while exploring.
There are also hidden shortcuts and portals that help people move around the city in fun ways while discovering new areas they may have otherwise missed.
One of my favorite areas is the almost hidden underground KiCKFLiP space, which represents the sponsor of the region. It brings a little energy and music culture into the dystopian atmosphere and gives the city a more youthful feeling beneath all the neon and chaos.
The exhibitors and creators also did an amazing job blending their shops into the overall visual theme, so the shopping experience itself becomes part of the immersion.
Tara: Do you have your own brand/shop? Can you say a few words about it?
Kiptin: KiCKFLiP is my personal skater-inspired community and my real-life creative brand in Second Life focused on music, creative stories & roleplay, community, and fun immersive hangout spaces. We have a large skate park, live DJs with events, several shops to explore, and a strong focus on fun social experiences with positive energy.
A lot of the KiCKFLiP style mixes skate culture, retro 90s/Y2K aesthetics, music culture, cyberpunk inspiration, and punk zine-style visuals together. I’ve always loved environments that feel energetic, expressive, and slightly rebellious while still being welcoming and community-driven.
I tried to carry that same spirit into Neon Dystopia, making it feel alive with music, personality, exploration, and imagination.

Step into the sleek, high-definition threshold of the early 21st century, the SIM built by Shelby, where the gritty realism and rapid technological anxieties of 2000s science fiction come to life. This was an era defined by the rapid convergence of humanity and machine, an aesthetic shift that moved away from retro-optimism toward the polished, darker vistas seen in The Matrix Reloaded or the haunting, dystopian sprawl of Children of Men. Wander through cybernetic landscapes and stark, high-tech industrial zones that mirror the existential dread and high-stakes action of these modern classics, offering an immersive experience that feels as much like a digital simulation as the films that inspired it.
Beyond the aesthetics of the digital underground, our sim embraces the bold, expansive scale of 2000s space exploration and high-concept storytelling. Explore environments that pay homage to the grounded, thought-provoking Journey of Moon or the intense, survival-focused atmosphere reminiscent of District 9.
Whether you are navigating urban environments inspired by the neo-noir cityscapes of the early millennium or uncovering the mysteries of a cold, indifferent cosmos, this sim invites you to inhabit the complex, genre-defining visions that captured the imagination of the turn of the century.

Welcome to our last era sim build by Stabby, that pushes the boundaries of reality, drawing inspiration from the most thought-provoking and visually stunning science fiction cinema released between 2010 and 2026. Here, the line between the digital and the physical dissolves as you explore environments reflecting the intellectual depth of Arrival and the intricate, dream-like structures of Inception. Inspired by the cold, mechanical precision of Ex Machina and the massive, awe-inspiring scale of Dune: Part Two and Interstellar, our world invites you to grapple with the future of humanity. Every vista and structure has been meticulously crafted to evoke the same sense of wonder found in the gritty, high-octane survival of Mad Max: Fury Road and the expansive, post-apocalyptic tension of Snowpiercer.
As you navigate this cutting-edge landscape, you’ll encounter challenges and aesthetics that mirror the most iconic sci-fi visions of the last fifteen years. Whether you are traversing the high-tech, digital frontiers reminiscent of Blade Runner 2049, engaging with the quiet, suspenseful atmosphere of A Quiet Place, or preparing for the gravity-defying stakes of Gravity, this sim provides a total immersion into the genre's modern peak. It is a space designed for pioneers and dreamers alike to experience the thrill of tomorrow, today.
